The Empire period in antique furnishing originated as an attempt to glorify Napoleon’s regime. Furnishings in this period were characterized by Greek, Roman and Egyptian motifs, or “neoclassical” influence. Simple lines and gilded accents through ormolu (gilding over bronze carving) were commonly featured.

The AWI Empire pillow is 22×22 inches and features intricately hand-crafted box pleats and a small self-welt, resulting in a tier of dressmaker details. The Empire pillow is offered in seven linen fabric coloways and includes a down insert and zipper.
